The Grand Canyon North Rim located in Northern Arizona is seeking for candidates for our Maintenance Technician Position beginning in Late April2019 and lasting through Late October.

The Maintenance Technician is responsiblefor therepair and maintenance of lodging units,facilities, equipment, vehicles, and property grounds.
Accurately enters and ensures the resolution of maintenance work orders and requests;Performspreventive, general, structural and routine maintenance.
Assists with training of Maintenance staff;Delegatesand directsthework of maintenance staffas needed.
Makesminor repairs such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry to lodging units and property facilities.
Usespower-operated tools including nail gun, skill saw, screwdriver, drill, etc.
Drivesand operatesmaintenance vehicles on and off property;Maintainsmaintenance vehicles and clean interior andexterior of vehicles as needed.
Accurately codesall maintenance related invoices.
May be responsible formaintenance of HVAC,pool,and lightingsystems.
May be responsible forlandscaping and property beatification projects; such as: mowing, trimming, planting, etc.
Respondsto guest requestsand questions; Acts is a professional manner.
Followsestablished safety protocols when operating alltools andapplying all products in a safe and efficient manner.
Know and follow all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs.
Followsthe integrated pest management policy.
Knowsand enforcescompany and property policies.
Properly usesall fire equipment on premises, as needed.
Assist other departments as need and requested, including Manager on Duty(MOD).
Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs.
Works extrashiftsand hours as required.
Assists in other departments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
Able to read, write and understand Englishin order togive and follow directions, instructions and to communicate with guests and coworkers.
Valid drivers license with good driving record.
Ability to work on-call after normal work hours, as needed.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
Knowledge of safety and environmental policies.
Electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry skills and knowledge.
Knowledge, skills and ability of proper use of hand tools includingAble to use hand tools includingscrewdrivers, hammer, steel measuring tape, utility knife, cordless drill, level, pliers, wrenches and socket wrench set, shovels, brooms, step ladders, etc.,and power-operated tools.
Ability to learn all company training materials.
Good time management, organizational skills including strong attention to detail, follow up and follow through.
Honest and trustworthy with company and guest property.
Able to work with liquids, gels, cleaners or other products.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
Climb stairs and walk on a variety of surfaces including paved, unpaved, wood, tile and uneven surfaces.
Stand/remain upright and walk during entire shift, up to 4 hours at a time.
Kneel, bend, stoop and squat repetitively.
Turn and twist repetitively.
Reach down, forward and overhead repetitively.
Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including extreme cold and hot weatherfor extended periods oftime.
Perform manual physical labor.
Visual acuity to recognize and complete repairs and maintenance.
Able to use hand tools includingscrewdrivers, hammer, steel measuring tape, utility knife, cordless drill, level, pliers, wrenches and socket wrench set, shovels, brooms, step ladders, etc.,and power-operated tools.
Lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Lift up to 70 pounds occasionally.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
Able to read andwriteEnglishlanguage
High school graduate
At least 5 years of prior maintenance work experience
Prior training and work in painting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and or carpentry preferred
